Mick Coady is Field Chief Technology Officer at Elisity, where he helps CISOs and security leaders across manufacturing, industrial, and healthcare organizations implement microsegmentation that actually works in complex operational environments. With over 30 years of global experience in privacy, security, and operational technology, Mick brings deep expertise in securing critical systems that can't go offline and protecting devices never built with cybersecurity in mind. A renowned international speaker, he has worked with computer task forces worldwide and served leadership roles at three of the "Big Four" consultancies (KPMG, Deloitte, PwC), leading forensics and security investigations across public and private sectors. During his decade at PwC, Mick served to consult with CIOs, CISOs with multiple hospitals, where he developed firsthand understanding of the challenges healthcare organizations face protecting life-critical systems and medical devices. This operational experience shapes his practical approach to security architecture—focused on solutions that protect critical assets while enabling the business operations organizations exist to deliver. Mick developed an enterprise risk methodology to help organizations mitigate risks and has vital architecture and implementation experience deploying identity and access management technologies with large, multinational corporations. He is an expert in applying solutions related to privacy directives, having managed over 60 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), EU Privacy Directive (EUPD), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) engagements internationally. As a member of the HITRUST Alliance leadership team, Mick helped develop and write control objectives in the Common Security Framework (CSF). He has also established centers of excellence for OT, IoMT, and IoT security, bringing practical frameworks to organizations struggling with unmanaged and ephemeral devices. In his role as Field CTO, Mick works directly with customers to assess their current state, design segmentation strategies, and implement identity-based microsegmentation policies in weeks using existing infrastructure—without downtime or operational disruption. His insights from real-world deployments help shape how Elisity's platform evolves to tackle the challenges that generic security solutions often miss.
